ISC '10, the 4th in a series of conferences on Information Security and Cryptology, is organized by the Information Security Association, Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) , Gazi University and Middle East Technical University (METU).

Computer systems which require secure access to their data are ubiquitous in today's world. Their proper functioning is of paramount importance for the proper and sane functioning of modern society. The main goals of the field of `Information Security and Cryptology'  is to explore and understand the structure of secure information systems, their construction and the discovery and understanding of possible attack methods to such systems.

We are hoping that this conference will be a platform to discuss information security, to present new approaches and applications, and to inform wider audience about  the security of the nation. We also believe that this conference will positively affect the researches and the applications  and  trigger for further related research and improvements in the field of information security and cryptology. This conference also provides an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of cryptography.

The conference focuses on a different topic each year and this year’s topic is “Data Privacy”.

Data privacy is one of the most crucial strategic element in the scope of e-governance and e-business.  A great deal of information on today's computing systems is the personal data of its users, for example: personal banking systems, university computing systems, government information systems. For any of these to be even socially acceptable, they need to provide dependable data privacy. This includes the process of protecting private information from misusage or modification by unauthorized parties.

The submitted papers will be evaluated by the program committee. Accepted papers, reviewed by (at least) three program committee members, will be published in conference proceedings.

The conference will take place in METU Culture and Convention Center, Ankara, Turkey on May 6-7, 2010.

We kindly invite you to participate in the conference (with or without a paper) to share your knowledge with others.
